Alfa Laval Acquires PHE Industria e Comercio in Brazil

Alfa Laval, Sweden, has acquired the Brazilian company PHE Industria e Comercio de Equipamentos which services plate heat exchangers and which has sales of approximately SEK 45 million.

GM Agrees to Sell Saab Automobile to Koenigsegg

General Motors announced that it has signed a stock purchase agreement with Koenigsegg Group AB for the sale of Saab Automobile. The transaction is subject to the completion of financing by Koenigsegg and is expected to close before the end of the year. According to Swedish news reports the purchase is backed by GM subscribing to preferred shares in Koenigsegg Group, a loan from the European Investment Bank and Swedish government guarantees, but approximately SEK 3 billion in additional financing is required.

Sapa Completes Acquisition of Indalex

Sapa Holding AB, Sweden, has completed its previously announced plan to acquire the assets of the U.S. aluminum extrusion manufacturer Indalex which was operating under bankruptcy protection for USD 95 million. Sapa is owned by Orkla ASA in Norway.

GE Energy to Acquire ScanWind

GE Energy (NYSE:GE) has agreed to acquire ScanWind in Norway from Morphic Technologies AB, Sweden, for SEK 130 million. ScanWind develops and commrcializes direct drive wind turbine technology for the offshore market.

Charles River Acquires Cerebricon Ltd.

Charles River (NYSE:CRL) has acquired Cerebricon Ltd. in Kuopio, Finland, for USD 9 million. Cerebricon provides pharmaceutical discovery services foused on the central nervous system (CNS) diseases category.
