Seco Tools to Acquire NC Industries and Diamond Tool Coating

Seco Tools, Sweden, a leading metalworking technology company, has signed an agreement to acquire NC Industries (NCI) and Diamond Tool Coating (DTC) in the U.S. NCI is a producer of solid carbide end mills under the Niagara Cutters and Arch Micro Tools brands and DTC is a producer of wear resistant diamond coatings. Together they have annual sales of approximately USD 37 million and 170 employees.

Research In Motion (Nasdaq:RIMM) has acquired The Astonishing Tribe, Sweden, which designs user interfaces for smartphones and whose customers include Sony Ericsson, Motorola and Samsung.
